I'm kind of late to the conversation but I was lurking around the forum and noticed the aging system question. I have my kennel on 2 months = 1 year. Should I change it to 3 months? It's up to you Honestly as is our first "year" on the new system it's hard to say. I think as long as your -1 or +1 month = year away from our 3 months = 1 year you will be okay.

Just wondering - I've just applied to register two english cocker spaniels (i accidentally sent one app too early and missed three pics.. sorry!) of the working type, and wonder if they'll be rejected since they don't really fit the conformation standards of their show type 'cousins'. I don't plan to enter them in conformation shows anyway - I really just want to compete in agility.

I don't plan to enter them in conformation shows anyway - I really just want to compete in agility. I don't evaluate registrations however to my knowledge, the policy is that as long as it resembles the breed in some capacity and the coat is realistic, it's acceptable. Registrars don't judge a dog at registration for how close it resembles the breed standard. A dog would only be judged on adherence to the standard in conformation shows, so working type dogs are fine for sporting titles, as I don't think we judge conformation (we just split classes based on a typical vs. atypical breed for that sport). So most likely they will be registered, is what I'm trying to say

No problem! It is worth noting though, that registrars may ask for a different photo or modifications if we feel it does not resemble the breed at all (even if it is a working type). Especially in breeds where they have a lot of fur on the ears and such, Sims can't really capture that so registrars can ask for an edited photo or different angles to truly judge the dog
