Hello everyone! I'm thinking of inventing a breed and already have a few ideas, but before I go into further development i wanted to hear your opinions. my idea is to make a dog that wakes some interest here, a dog that is not created just because and that hopefully most of you will have an interest in, maybe to own or to see more of it around. I have no clue how to add a poll to this thread, so below are a few options. feel free to post what dog you would like to see around here!
Would you like to see more... 1. Sporting 2. Working 3. Hound 4. Terrier 5. Toy 6. Non-Sporting 7. Herding ...type dogs?
What size? 1. Toy 2. Small 3. Medium 4. Large
Fur? 1. Long 2. Short 3. Curly 4. Wavy
Would you like to see/own... 1. a search and rescue dog 2. a family dog (good with children, companion) 3. a dog apt for working with and helping disabled persons 4. a police-work dog (includes protection) 5. a farm dog (guardian and herding) 6. add your own ; )
every opinion counts! feel free to add to this

More Herding and Working breeds (not sure if we need more, those are just my favorites lol), large or medium size. Preferably long or short fur. And I like search and rescue/working dogs. I like dogs that can do it all, whether it be actual work or sports.

Meet the Patagonian dog! Also known as Perro Patagonico or Perro de la Patagonia in Argentina, the country of origin; and informally known as the "Nana Dog". This breed was produced by crossing Saint Bernards with Newfoundlands, German Shepherds, Bouvier Des Flandres, Central Asian Shepherds, Greater Swiss Mountain Dogs, Pointers and Golden Retrievers with the purpose of creating a versatile breed that could guard and drive herds of sheep over long distances at the base of the Andes mountains. It's gentle demeanor, great strength and loyalty resulted in their later use for search and rescue, police work and assisting disabled persons. Coat colors are: black and any shade between dark brown and light fawn. Markings: a black, dark brown, tan or fawn mask that contrasts with the base color (the ONLY exception is a black dog that presents a black mask, as it is camouflaged). White markings always present: piebald, irish/flashy, plain white markings (little white on neck, chest and paws). Rarely seen: sable with the above mentioned markings. Eyes: brown, dark brown or blue. Rarely seen: Hazel and green. Never heterochromia in the eyes You can visit the site for info on the standard, history and more pics! Let me know what you guys think, what you like/dislike and how I can make this breed better Your help is very much appreciated!!! Generation 0 Male (Sable piebald with tan mask) Generation 0 Female (Light fawn with black mask) Generation 1 Male (Black with black mask) Generation 1 Female (Fawn piebald with dark brown mask) Generation 2 Male (Sable with tan mask) Generation 2 Female (Black piebald with fawn mask)

Isn't it fun when you make breeds I love how you can see the influence of the other breeds especially the Central Asian Shepherd at least to me! The generation 2 female is lovely.

Thank you! I have been working on a new breed called the Terrier Pampeano or Pampa Terrier. Essencially it combines sighthounds' speed and build with the terriers' tenacity and strength. It is used to hunt small predators such as foxes, wild dogs and weasels, as well as hares. The breed standard, a brief history and other info can be found here. It's development began with the cross of greyhounds and Irish wolfhounds with the Airedale terrier, American Staffordshire terrier, Weimaraner, Schnauzer and Doberman Pinscher. Here's a preview
