So my photoshop free trial just expired  and now I'm back to using GIMP. I hate gimp. I can't edit my Border Collies properly because the layers don't work the same way photoshop's does >.< If you don't use photoshop, what software do you use? If you use GIMP, can someone help me with editing!!! My border collies are going to look suckish again lol |

I tried a variety of different applications myself and I just couldn't get used to anything else. If you want photoshop in an affordable way they have these photographer deals on Creative Cloud that gives you Photoshop and Lightroom for £8/$10ish a month.
otherwise, you could give FireAlpaca a go, but it's more for art than editing >_<

I know there's a version of Photoshop CS2 that is legally available from Adobe, you could check that out if you're used to Photoshop? I think I found a link here: helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/cs2-product-downloads.html but I'm not entirely sure! You'll have to have an Adobe ID but CS2 is free to obtain in a legal way through Adobe  |

What exactly is your issue with the layers on GIMP? I use GIMP and the layers have never really been a problem for me.

I looked at the link and it's just a help page can't find any free versions That's the right link. I have the free CS2. Just go to that page again, check the box at the top that says "I accept." Then go down and press any language you use and go down to "Photoshop CS2" and there should be a serial number for Macs and Windows. Whichever you use, pick one and after the installation, it will ask you for the serial number. Once you have that put in, it should be ready to use |

What exactly is your issue with the layers on GIMP? I use GIMP and the layers have never really been a problem for me. They seem really wonky to me. Like when I try to get the layer of just the dog, I can't smudge the fur outside of the dotted lines. |
