Dog’s Name: Angelic's Feel The Light Dog’s Sex: Female Dog’s Breed: Pharaoh Hound SKC Number SKC00203 Handler’s Name: Clarissa Yue Sanders Owner/Kennel’s Name: Clarissa Yue Sanders/The Angelic Kennel Entry Images: Description "Ladies and gentlemen. Introducing the six group winners, competing for Best In Show at the 2nd Simnational Dog Show!" The winner of the Sporting Group; Curly Coated Retriever!
The winner of the Terrier Group; American Staffordshire Terrier!"
Waiting in line on the side of the ring and watching the other handlers showing off their dogs was both exciting and nerve-wrecking. Clarissa had always enjoyed it, she had watched her own mother in thise very same position when she was only a little girl. But now it was her waiting in line to be called out. To show her very own dog in such a big show was such an amazing feeling. She felt this incredible pride and joy that her own, self-bred dog, was now considered the best of the Hound Group and worthy to be taken into consideration for the highest placing, in the most glorious annual dog show.
"The winner of the Hound Group; Pharaoh Hound!"
That was their cue! Clarissa gave Ammit a quick little kiss on her nose, an encouraging pat on her chest and then they were off. She already knew Ammit's pace and general behavior at shows, so Clarissa could provide her a perfect length of the lead as they ran two laps around the ring. Watching Ammit, one could see just how much she simply enjoyed this and how much the applauds and cheering from the audience encouraged her to go on and show even more pride and elegance than she usually did.
As the following dogs entered the ring and showed themselves off to the audience, Ammit and Clarissa ended up in the shadows, That was when Ammit got herself some more encouraging, praising strokes as she was being stacked.
"The winner of the Herding Group; Border Collie!
The winner of the Working Group; Doberman Pinscher!
The winner of the Non-Sporting Group; French Bulldog!"
After the judge, Victoria Reed, had been introduced and had shaken hands with all the handlers, the remaining wait wasn't long. After the two previous dogs had gotten the judge's undivided attention, it was finally Ammit's time.
Ammit was incredibly collected tonight, she usually was a bit of a goofball, doing things a bit in her own way, but not tonight. Tonight she was much calmer and alert than usual. She must know that tonight was extra special and that there was a lot at stake.
As the judge apprached them, Clarissa had just enough time to give two encouraging strokes on the lean, muscular neck or Ammit and then she quickly tugged the leash twice and let Ammit do the rest of the job. And did she do her job! She did great during the physical examination, standing nicely and staying in place as the judge ran her hands along her smooth, lean body and measured the tail. She even gave an approving, excited bark to the judge as they were asked to run back and forth for the judge.
As the judge had taken a second over-all look of Ammit, Clarissa gave another tug of the lead to make sure Ammit was as good as she possibly could be. And then they were asked to run back and forth. Clarissa gave another boosting pat on Ammit's chest and then they moved in the ring, like they had been requested. She always got a lot of lead to move on so she could simply show off her own, natural, beautiful gait as it was supposed to be seen.
When they returned to the judge, Ammit was quickly free stacked for a little moment so they judge got yet another glance of her. Then they were off Ammit got a lot of leash to run on now too. Her natural gait was effortless and ground-covering. They went around the ring and they could both hear th audience cheer. But all they both could see was each other. That was what mattered.
"Good girl, Ammit!"

Dog’s Name: APB Fire and Ash Dog’s Sex: Bitch Dog’s Breed: American Staffordshire Terrier SKC Number: SKC00029 Handler’s Name: Cyan Jackson Owner/Kennel’s Name: Arketa Entry Images: Description It was finally the day. The day of the Simnational, that huge event that everyone talked about that only contained the best dogs at the SKC. Cyan was utterly nervous and the thought of competing against 5 other superb dogs made it even worse. It was Cyan's first show year at the SKC, and her and her beloved Rowan were already in the final level of the Simnationals together. It was honestly terrifying to say the least. She had started showing dogs two years ago and she'd been in a number of shows, but none like this. But she knew there was a feeling that Rowan would be a charmer in the show ring. Rowan had a care-free but enthusiastic look on her face, iconic for a bull-breed and it was so oddly inspiring to Cyan as she would love to be that way. She patted Rowan, who sensed her nervousness, on the shoulder as she laid her heavy body on Cyan in a attempt to calm her.
The announcer announced the winner of the terrier group, "APB Fire and Ash," an American Staffordshire Terrier bitch.
Now was their time to shine. Cyan scratched Rowan's head affectionately, running her hand quickly down her sleek back. She tugged the lead slightly, the pair heading out into the ring, trotting alongside each other. As soon as they stopped in their positions, Cyan stacked Rowan. "Good girl, Row," Cyan cooed, Rowan quickly looking up at her to show that she was listening.
The announcer of the huge event called out the winning dogs and their handlers.
The judge, Miss Victoria Reed, greeted each handler, shaking hands with them. Afterwards, she looked over the dog before Rowan, examining its stack and its build. Then she came to Rowan. Rowan was like a statue in her stack, so chiseled and a sight for sore eyes. The judge examined her closely, Cyan smiled, holding a good posture. Rowan's ears remained perked and her tail remained still yet full of joy as it slightly quivered when the judge made a sudden movement. Cyan blushed at how well-behaved Rowan was being. Usually she was so happy-go-lucky, but no. Today she was like a clay figure: still, precious, and elegant. Her muscles were well-toned and caught the light so well.
As soon as they were asked to show Rowan's gait, Rowan sounded a soft, excited grunt, waiting for Cyan to take off into a jog. Rowan's gait was light yet so powerful and full of grace, so fluent and enthusiastic. Cyan felt surges of energy run through her, the nervousness fading away. Rowan, you could tell, loved the cheering of the crowd and the hype in the air around her. She soaked in the praise and cheer, her tail slightly wiggling behind her.
Cyan led Rowan back, Rowan's stance still graceful and catching the light like magnifying catching the rays of light. Cyan patted Rowan once more, so proud of her and proud of their relationship as a whole. The judge got a good last look at Rowan before heading to the next dog. "Fantastic, Rowan. Such a good girl!" Rowan looked up at Cyan with bright eyes. You could easily tell that the elated young dog wanted to go for another round.

Dog’s Name: CH. Goldien's Gaddfedel UDX. Dog’s Sex: female Dog’s Breed: Curly Coated Retriever SKC Number SKC00068 Handler’s Name: Alex Novovich Owner/Kennel’s Name: Kara Krajch/Goldien's Kennel Entry Images: DescriptionIn-Ring Announcer: Ladies and gentlemen. Introducing the six group winners, competing for Best In Show at the 2nd Simnational Dog Show! The Best In Show this evening will be judged by Mrs. Victoria Reed of Great Bear, Alaska. Please, welcome her to the ring!At last, it was finally here, the big night of the prestigious Best In Show level of the Simnational Dog Show. Absolutely anything could happen tonight, given that there were 6 wonderful dogs of undeniable immense quality, but only one BIS ribbon to be handed out. To say that Alex was stressed out would have been an understatement of the century. However, Sevia on the other hand seemed to be relaxed and wagged her tail happily by her handler’s side. Alex once again thanked the heavens, or if you will, her cousin and kennel owner Kara, for giving her the opportunity of handling the liver Curly Coated Retriever in shows. She was truly an amazing animal. Her eyes has always radiated the calming aura and her happy-go-lucky demeanour would cheer even the grumpiest man alive up. In-Ring Announcer: The winner of the Sporting Group; Curly Coated Retriever!Studio Announcer 1: And here we have the first participant, the Curly Coated Retriever, winner of its group from the Best of Group level, making its way down the show ring in full speed, but looking ever so graceful!
Studio Announcer 2: Oh yes, it’s the tallest of the retrievers but nevertheless moves with swiftness, agility and soundness that is respective of the breed. In-Ring Announcer: The winner of the Terrier Group; American Staffordshire Terrier! The winner of the Hound Group; Pharaoh Hound! The winner of the Herding Group; Border Collie!
As they had finished their first introductory lap, Alex patted Sevia’s head and scratched her behind her ear, in turn receiving a content poking of her tongue out at her. Then she proceeded to stack the retriever and wait for the judge to come their way. In-Ring Announcer: The winner of the Working Group; Doberman Pinscher! The winner of the Non-Sporting Group; French Bulldog!
It didn’t take long for Mrs. Reed to come and take a closer look at the Sporting Group Winner. Sevia looked effortless in her stack, concentrating on the offered treat and wagging her tail from side to side, letting the judge examine her without any further complications. Overall, the dog seemed to be in high spirits that night and Alex couldn’t do else but requite the smile Sevia was giving her with a wink and a smile of her own. When it was the time for them to move again, Alex gave Sevia a light affectionate pat on the side of her chest, re-adjusted the leash on her neck and then they were off. It was the time to strut their stuff for everybody to see! Studio Announcer 1: And here comes the jubilant Curly Coated Retriever in action again!
Studio Announcer 2: I cannot do else but notice that you seem to be very fond of this breed. Studio Announcer 1: Haha, well how wouldn’t I be? You could never mistake this dog, being covered in those crisp, tight, resilient curls, intelligent and alert personality, and a steadfast worker. And the one that we have here tonight is all that and even more! Look at it go! Spectacular build, great substance,…
Studio Announcer 2: Oh yes, and the lights in this arena are adding the coat such a nice touch to it! It looks like someone just spilled a bottle of polisher on it, its strikingly shiny!
Studio Announcer 1: Beyond a doubt! And look at the way it moves! So full of drive and powerful yet so very elegant. You can clearly see that it’s no mere show dog, but rather it comes from a long and successful lineage of working dogs that were bred accordingly to the standard, something I am sure majority of breeders aspire to achieve but only a few actually can. Breeding done right! And don’t even get me started on its attitude during the night. It proudly stands its ground but at the same time manages to revel in the atmosphere, savouring it to the bits.
Studio Announcer 2: Yes, we can definitely see it enjoying itself in the ring and no matter how this night ends, I think we can all agree on this dog already being the winner in its own heart and undoubtedly in the hearts of its handler and owners as well. Astonishing performance! Ladies and gentlemen this was the one and only Curly Coated Retriever!

Dog’s Name: Harbor's Telegraph by Telephone Dog’s Sex: Bitch Dog’s Breed: Doberman Pinscher SKC Number: SKC00219 Handler’s Name: Moira Twilip Owner/Kennel’s Name: Moira Twilip/Mainhardt "Ladies and gentlemen, the six winners competing for Best in Show at the 2nd Simnational Dog Show!"The announcer called out, applause ringing out among the crowd. The Sporting, Terrier, Hound, and Herding Group Winners were all ahead of us in the line. Terry stood calmly beside me, head tilting occasionally as the dogs in front of us started their run in the spotlight. It was when the Border Collie took off that I finally felt the nerves kick in. We could do this, we had done this successfully before. I had handled dogs before in similar situations. No sweat. "The winner of the Working Group, Doberman Pinscher #66!"That was our cue. I pulled the lead into my hand, getting Terry's attention. She perked up and we took off, the spotlight shining on us. We made our way around the ring before coming to a stop at the Working Group box that marked our spot in the ring. "Best in Show this evening will be judged by Victoria Reed of Great Bear, Alaska. Our stewards are Ms. Vera Collins, Ms. Elizabeth Hughes, and Ms. Natalí Russeaux."Judge Reed walked around the ring, surveying the dogs. She came over to each competitor and shook their hand, "Congratulations," she said in a warm voice. When she reached the final dog and handler pair, she stepped back and sent us around the ring. The crowd applauded as each one of us went in succession. Now it was time to stack our dogs for Judge Reed to examine. I took in a deep breath and Terry stood calmly next to me as I stacked her until it was our turn. As the Border Collie was sent around to do their final trot around for the judge to examine, I brought Terry forward to stack her. I carefully placed her front and back legs before adjusting her lead to bring it higher on her neck. "The Doberman Pinscher is named after its developer, Louis Dobermann. Rottweilers, local sheepdogs, and an old German Pinscher were used to perfect the ultimate police-type dog. Today, because of their innate desire to be of service, Dobermans succeed in both therapy work and as service dogs. This is Doberman Pinscher #66!"Judge Reed came over and examined Terry closely, checking her bite and running her hand along her topline. Terry's expressive eyes shone brightly as she stood quietly for her examination. Her tongue lolled out as Judge Reed checked her chest, running her hand down. "Around and back, please."I adjusted Terry's lead and we took off away from the judge. The smooth, elegant movement of the Doberman Pinscher was clearly visible as Terry trotted away. Her gait looked effortless but not to the point of overreaching. Her tail was carried properly, not too low, and her head was lower than some of the other dogs that had shown off their gait however it made Terry look focused. We turned around and then we headed back toward the judge, who was observing Terry closely. Now it was time for the free stack and I made sure to turn Terry at just the right angle to hopefully get her stacked nicely. Terry nailed it, standing with the slightest bit of extension that was to be expected in her free stack. Her gaze was dead set on me as I baited her at the end of the leash. Judge Reed stood and judged her before gesturing for us to go back around to our place once more. "Thank you. All the way around."We made our way back to our box and I knelt down to adjust Terry in her stack for the final review by Judge Reed. Judge Reed made her way down slowly, reviewing each dog as they walked past. "One more time, all the way around!"She instructed us and we all shuffled quickly to stand up to make our way around for the last time. As the last dog finished and we were stacking our dogs again, Judge Reed went over to the stewards and entered their choice. Judge Reed picked the ribbons from the table and came back around with the stewards. "It's a privilege to be here and to judge these wonderful dogs. My Best in Show pick is..."
